What is SpyWare and why should I be concerned? [back to top]
%99.999 percent of everyone that's ever used a computer has typed in something that they probably don't the rest of the world to know. Spyware can invade your privacy like most viruses could only dream of doing. Many spyware  programs come attached with other "nifty" programs that  usually have some novel purpose. These "nifty" programs could take the form of a greeting card, P2P programs that allow you to download MP3's and other media, and even cute and cuddly kitten screensavers. You may or may not notice spyware being installed on your computer along with these programs. Not all Spyware programs work the same, but they all have one purpose... to deliver information about what you do on your computer to someone else. This could be as "innocent" as a program that analyzes what web pages you go to and attempts to deliver pop-up ads similar in nature to what you really wanted (without delivering personally identifiable information), and they can be as dark as to allow someone to watch your screen remotely and everything you see on your screen can appear on their screen. Some programs can record every keystroke you type, even if  you're not connected to the Internet (it just saves the information and sends the keystroke data when you connect the next time).

Follow the link to the Spybot Search & Destroy page . Click on the download link tot the left and you will be transported to the download page. You will be asked to consider donating money for the further development, and we would like you to consider donating if you like the program! Below the donation information are the links to download the program. Click on one and then choose "Open" when the download window appears. How do I uninstall it? [back to top]
The easiest way to uninstall the program is to go to the Windows Control Panel and choose Add/Remove Programs and uninstall from there.

Where can I get help? [back to top]
First and foremost, read the program's tutorial an the Spybot Search and Destroy page. To access help, click "Help" on the toolbar at the top of the program and choose "Program Help". You should read and search the help files thoroughly before requesting assistance. Chances are, you'll find the answer to most of your questions there faster than anywhere else. If all else fails, you can call Mikrotec Technical Support and they will attempt to assist you with the program. Please bear in mind that Mikrotec did not write this program, we only suggest it, and our technicians may not be privy to all technical support issues with this program.
